Hi @vicki1996
Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.
If your HP OfficeJet Pro 9018 printer is stuck on the "Verifying" screen even after disconnecting it from power for an extended period, there are several steps you can take to try to resolve the issue:
Hard Reset the Printer:
- Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cable and any other connected cables.
- Wait for about 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cable directly to the wall outlet (avoid using power strips) and turn on the printer.
Update Printer Firmware:
- Connect the printer to your computer and check HP's website for any available firmware updates.
- Follow the instructions to update the printer firmware. This can sometimes fix software-related issues that cause the printer to hang.
Check for Blockages:
- Open the printer and check for any paper jams or obstructions in the paper path that might be causing the printer to stall.
Restart Network Connection:
- If your printer is connected to a network, restart your router to ensure stable connectivity.
- Reconnect the printer to the network and try again.
By following these steps, you should be able to address the issue or determine if further technical assistance is needed.
