Hi @hask1, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M283fdw is web-enabled and online but not receiving emails via HP ePrint, try these troubleshooting steps:
Check HP ePrint Service Status
- Go to HP Smart and log in.
- Ensure your printer is added and linked to your account.
- Check if HP ePrint services are active.
Verify Printer’s Email Address
- On the printer's touchscreen, go to Setup > Web Services > Display Email Address.
- Ensure you're sending emails to the correct HP ePrint email address.
Check Email Format Requirements
- Ensure you are sending a plain email (no complex formatting or signatures).
- Attachments should be PDF, DOC, JPG, or PNG (max 10MB total).
- Subject line should not be blank (some servers block blank subjects).
Restart Web Services
- On your printer, go to Setup > Web Services.
- Turn off Web Services, wait 30 seconds, and turn it back on.
- A new ePrint email address may be assigned—update it in your email contacts.
Check Firewall & Network Settings
- Ensure your network allows outbound connections to HP Web Services.
- If you have a firewall or proxy, allow traffic on these ports:
- Port 443 (Secure HTTPS)
- Port 5222 (HP ePrint messaging)
Test with Another Email
- Try sending an email from a different email provider (e.g., Gmail, Outlook).
- Some corporate or work emails may block outbound ePrint emails.
Check HP ePrint Job History
- Log into HP Smart and check the Job History for failed print jobs.
- If an email failed, there may be an error message explaining why.
Reset Printer to Factory Defaults
- As a last resort, reset the printer:
- Go to Setup > Service > Restore Defaults.
- Re-enable Web Services and set up ePrint again.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
