@davetem05, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Since your HP DeskJet 2734e can scan and copy, we know the hardware is functional and the connection to your PC is at least partially working. The issue is likely with print-specific communication or software.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you troubleshoot:

Restart Everything

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it for 30 seconds.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Turn on the printer again and wait until it's ready.

Check Default Printer

  • Press Windows + I > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
  • Click on your HP DeskJet 2734e.
  • Make sure it says "Set as default". If not, click the option to set it as the default printer.

Clear the Print Queue

  • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Right-click your HP printer > See what's printing.
  • Click Printer > Cancel All Documents.

Run the HP Print and Scan Doctor

Even though it’s mostly for Windows, it can fix stuck print queues and driver issues:

Download it here: HP Print and Scan Doctor.

Open it, select your printer, and let it scan and fix issues.

Reinstall the Printer Driver

Check Print Spooler Service

  • Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
  • Scroll down to Print Spooler.
  • Right-click > Restart.
  • Right-click > Properties and make sure the Startup type is set to Automatic.

Try Printing a Test Page

  • Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
  • Click your printer > Printer properties.
  • In the General tab, click Print Test Page.

Optional: Use HP Smart App

  • Download from Microsoft Store.
  • Add your printer again and try printing from there—it often installs required components automatically.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
