Hi @sona_houle,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
If your HP printer isn't printing on both sides of the page (duplex printing) on macOS 10.13 High Sierra, here are some steps to troubleshoot and enable it:
1. Check if Your Printer Supports Duplex Printing
Not all HP printers support automatic duplexing. You can check this by:
- Looking up your printer model on HP’s support site
- Or checking the printer’s manual/settings
2. Enable Duplex Printing in macOS
- Open System Preferences > Printers & Scanners
- Select your HP printer from the list
- Click Options & Supplies > Driver tab
- Make sure the Duplex Unit is checked (if available)
3. Enable Duplex in Print Dialog
When printing a document:
- Go to File > Print
- Click Show Details (if hidden)
- Look for a setting like:
- Two-Sided or Duplex Printing
- Set it to Long-Edge binding or Short-Edge binding, depending on your preference
4. Update or Reinstall HP Printer Drivers
- Go to HP Software & Drivers
- Download the latest driver for your printer and the macOS version
- You may also try removing and re-adding the printer in Printers & Scanners
5. Try HP Easy Admin or HP Smart
HP offers tools like:
- HP Easy Admin for Mac
- HP Smart App
These can help manage printer settings and updates more easily.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
