Hi @468

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

That error usually means the printer isn’t detecting the printhead properly. Here are some steps to fix it:

Reset the Printer

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.

Reseat the Printhead

  • Open the cartridge access door and remove all ink cartridges.
  • Lift the latch securing the printhead and gently remove it.
  • Reinsert the printhead firmly and lock the latch.
  • Reinstall the ink cartridges and close the access door.

Check for Paper Jams

  • Turn off the printer and inspect the cartridge area for any jammed paper.
  • Remove any debris that might be blocking the printhead.

Clean the Printhead Contacts

  • Use a lint-free cloth dampened with distilled water to clean the copper-colored contacts on the printhead and inside the printer.
  • Let them dry completely before reinstalling.

Perform a Hard Reset

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the back.
  • Hold the power button for 30 seconds to drain residual charge.
  • Reconnect the power cord and turn the printer back on.

Let me know how it goes!
