Hi @ishu15

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're experiencing significant lag or delays (10-20 minutes) when printing via Wi-Fi with your HP LaserJet Pro MFP 126nw, there could be a few potential reasons behind the slow printing, including network issues, printer settings, or even the print job size. Here’s a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot and resolve this issue:

1. Check Your Wi-Fi Signal Strength

The first thing to check is the strength and stability of your Wi-Fi signal. If the printer is far from the router or there are obstacles (walls, other devices causing interference), this could lead to poor or inconsistent connectivity, resulting in slow printing.

  • Move the Printer Closer to the Router: If possible, try placing the printer closer to the Wi-Fi router to ensure a stronger connection.
  • Check Wi-Fi Speed: You can test the speed of your Wi-Fi using a smartphone or laptop. Make sure the Wi-Fi network isn’t experiencing any congestion or slowness.

2. Use the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi Band

The HP LaserJet Pro MFP 126nw supports the 2.4 GHz band and not the 5 GHz band. If your router is set to dual-band (broadcasting both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), make sure your printer is connected to the 2.4 GHz network.

  • Log into Your Router’s Settings: Use your router's admin panel (usually accessed via a web browser by entering 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1).
  • Ensure the Printer is Connected to 2.4 GHz: If your router is dual-band, ensure your printer connects to the 2.4 GHz band, which has better range and is more stable for devices like printers.

3. Ensure Your Printer is Connected to the Correct Network

Verify that your HP LaserJet Pro MFP 126nw is connected to the right Wi-Fi network.

  • On the Printer:
    • Press the Wi-Fi button on the printer’s control panel to check the connection status.
    • If the printer isn't connected to the network, use the Wireless Setup Wizard to connect it to the correct network.

4. Restart Your Router and Printer

Sometimes, simply restarting both the printer and the router can help fix network-related issues.

  1. Restart Your Router: Unplug your router, wait 30 seconds, and plug it back in. Wait for the Wi-Fi connection to be fully restored.
  2. Restart Your Printer: Turn off your printer, wait 30 seconds, and then turn it back on.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
