This printer does not include the full range of Copy features.

Nor does the printer support automatic 2-sided scan.

If you are referring to the HP Smart application, the app supports what the printer can do -- the app cannot add features not supported by the printer hardware.

Were you using a Windows computer and have the full driver printer software installed, HP Scan can help make the process of scanning a 2-sided document tolerable.  Once the content is scanned and saved, it can be printed as you like it.

Example - HP Scan - Save as PDF - Main menu - Page Sides = "2-sided (manual)"
