6520
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I uninstalled the HP 6520; had no uninstall errors. [cannot remember if I uninstalled with a 6520 Uninstall exe or if I did it with Windows 10 Uninstall Programs.]  Now, every time I startup my PC I get an Error Message Window stating "There was a problem starting c:\Program Files\HP\HP Photosmart 6520 series\bin\HPStatusBL.dll The specified module could not be found."

I still have a Photosmart C7250 which is attached to my router via LAN as a network printer and is working as it should be.

I would like to get rid of the Photosmart missing dll error, but, not at the expense of messing up the c7250.

The 6520 folder is gone, the 6520 was successfully removed from Devices and Printers.  Why is my PC still trying to load a missing 6520 dll at startup after the 6520 was supposedly uninstalled?

How can I fix the 6520 startup error without messing up the C7250?

Hi @PineSap,

Welcome to the HP Support Forums! 🙂 I see since uninstalling your HP Officejet 6520 you are now getting this error message "There was a problem starting C:\program files\HP\HP Deskjet 1510 series\bin\HPStatusBL.dll

The specified module cannot be found"  on Start up.

After some research I was able to find this solution on the Forums, see below:

For Windows 10 issue RunDLL error (HPStatusBL.dll) check this location:

(Activate hidden files and folders beforehand)

C:\Users\(YOUR USER NAME)\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

(Maybe depending on who installed the software, check other users if you can't find it in your profile)

Delete the shortcut that HP does not cleanup decently during uninstall:

Monitor Ink Alerts - HP xxxxxxxxxx -Source

I hope this helps, please let me know the outcome. I will watch for your reply.
