my laserjet M140we does not let me print anything, it says that "a problem has occured with you hp account and you will be able to print very soon unless the issue is resolved. to learn more open the hp smart app or visit www.hpsmart.com and sign in to your account". When I open the app it says to check my account and that the problem may be with the billing cycle but I don't have have any billing information in my profile. How do i fix this ?

Hi @Una10,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like there might be an issue with your HP account or the printer's subscription status. Here’s what you can do to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

Check HP Account Status:

  • Visit www.hpsmart.com and sign in to your HP account.
  • Check for any notifications or alerts regarding your account or printer subscription status.

Verify Printer Subscription Status:

  • In the HP Smart app, go to the "Printers" section.
  • Select your LaserJet M140we and check the printer status and subscription details.

Update Billing Information:

  • Even if you don’t have any billing information in your profile, it’s worth verifying if there’s a need to add or update payment details.
  • Go to the "Billing" section of your HP account and ensure that all required fields are filled in correctly.

Check for Service Outages:

  • Sometimes, HP services may be down temporarily. Check HP’s support page or their service status page for any ongoing issues.

Reinstall HP Smart App:

  • Uninstall and reinstall the HP Smart app to ensure it is up to date and to refresh its connection with your HP account.

By following these steps, you should be able to address the account issue and resume printing with your HP LaserJet M140we.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi @Una10,

Thank you for your response,

If your printer is not showing up on your HP Smart account under the "Printers" section, you can try the following steps to make it visible again.

Ensure Printer is Connected to the Internet

  • Make sure your printer is powered on and connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer or mobile device.

Sign in to HP Smart Account

  • Open HP Smart and ensure you are signed in with the correct HP account credentials.

Re-add Your Printer

  • If your printer is not listed, you can manually add it:
    1. Click on "Add Printer" on the HP Smart website.
    2. Follow the on-screen instructions to search for and connect your printer.

Use HP Smart App (Optional)

  • Download the HP Smart app on your mobile or desktop if you haven’t done so already.
  • Open the app and log in with your HP account.
  • Click on Add Printer and follow the setup process to reconnect your printer.

Restart Printer and Network

  • Restart both your printer and Wi-Fi router to refresh the network connection.

Update Firmware and Software

  • Ensure both your printer firmware and HP Smart app/website are up to date.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
