Likewise. MY printer is fine and my other updates are going through. I'm not yet sure what this update is for.

I have this creepy feeling HP does not have a clue, what the update is, why it is failing, why Microsoft updates are carrying this update, etc.   Almost like HP has been hacked.   Sad, HP used to be so trusted and their support was so good.

The update must have passed Windows Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL)  to get on there so HP must have submitted it. HP has said it is ok to download it from their support page.

Hi there. Microsoft has already walked me through their checks and I have rebooted two times. I also have a small number of regular Windows updates download ok at the same time. So I'll try downloading the package as you suggest and let you know how things go.

Thanks Greyson.  If in fact the update is OK, then there must be something wrong on the client side  rejecting the update ?  Most likely then a solid HP problem.   My other comment demonstrated how I go the update to work.  What a bunch of work required...

The big package I installed then de-installed was:

HP LaserJet Pro 300/400 color M375/M475 Series Full Software and Drivers

The smaller package I installed afterwards was:

HP LaserJet Pro 300/400 color M375/M475 Series PCL6 Print Driver

I was going to install this one but at this point I was fed up with the issue and needed to fix three machines:

HP LaserJet Pro 300/400 color M375/M475 SeriesPCL 6 Print Driver (no installer)

After all was done I installed the old HP Scan & Capture App.  HPSmart does not like me, every now and again it burps, stops with an irritating message about the Scanner not being available, I just fired up HP Scan & Capture and all worked fine, subsequent attempt with HPSmart, same problem.  Found if you de-install and re-install it will work maybe once maybe a few dozen times till it burps again.

I'm running Windows 11 on a couple powerful desktops and a laptop, all have the same issues...

HI and thanks for your time.

Just gotta ask. The problem update is called HP 3.2.1.2285 , Looking at your support website , my eye is drawn to :

HP DeskJet/Ink Advantage 2700 All-in-One Printer series All-in-One Printer series Firmware Update
2251B/2251C/2251D

Have I got the right one?

Yes, that is the correct Driver that Windows is attempting to install.  I have a different print, mine is an HP LJ 300-400 Color M375-M475.   The Driver downloads on the HP website for my printer are:

Thx for the feedback . According to my printer itself, it says it's up to date !

Would be interesting to learn how many folks are  having this issue and what version of the HP driver software they have installed… would help validate circumstances surrounding this issue.  I’m a ‘nit picker” when it comes to having a clean environment on my systems and feel better when even small issues can be knowingly redolved.
