The printer's screen says that, if the problem persists, call HP.

Does anyone have a phone number to call for live support? 

I'd be happy with a chat, but can't find a link anywhere for a Support chat.

Warranty coverage was never mentioned in the original post. We don't expect it, and were willing to pay someone, anyone, at HP that would respond to our service call. The printer screen says "contact HP". We tried. We failed.

 

This printer went into the recycle truck today. It made the coolest sound as it was being "reshaped" by the truck's operator!
