HP OfficeJet 9015
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I'm getting this via Win10 notification any time I try to print. It just started.

"Error printing on HPCAAC20 (HP OfficeJet 9010 series) The printer couldn't print *document name*"

Or  "Printer is in an error state".

I have the 9015, and it worked just fine until recently. I have tried powering off the printer, I have tried uninstalling - restarting - reinstalling via HP software, the Print Doctor.

The HP SMART App shows everything working fine and that the printer is ready. The display on the printer works just fine, and shows no issues. I can print from my iPhone and iPad no issues, as well as my iMac and my Surface Book 6. This issue is on my main and most expensive PC.

Please help.

Hi,

Try following below specific version of the HP Print and Scan Doctor Utility by selecting your printer:

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/printers/hppsdr/patches/HPPSdr.exe

Be sure to restart your PC and allow the utility to complete the process, then check for any difference.

Try printing and check for any change, if the same remains try printing using the newly added print queue copy (Copy1) and check for any difference.

Hi Shlomi,

So, it seems that it has corrected the printing issues! I was finally able to print the test page from the Print Doctor app and print a few PDF's. Question is, now that Printing is working, is it okay to name the Printer something else? Or will that mess with it?

I also tried to test the Scanner with this, and this software said it's unable, even though it went ahead through all the steps. It offered me software to download, software for the whole printer, and that, it seems, was not available on the internet, as I tried them all. Is that normal?

Hopefully the new software coupled with HP SMART app will continue to make this work.

Thanks for your help!
