Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite

Every time I go to print, I get a "Media Needed" error message.  I use an HP Deskjet D1660.  I don't know what that means and I have been trying to get to the bottom of the problem.  I have tried everything from forgetting the printer, to a hard reset, to trying to clean the paper rollers.  Can anyone offer me some help and guidance with this issue?  My printer has never had any ideas before this one.

@AF12345, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

It seems like the printer is not able to detect and pick the papers in the printer to print.

Perform the steps mentioned in this document - An 'Out of Paper' error displays, printer does not pick paper

Also, check for any software updates on MAC

  1. Open the App Store app on your Mac.
  2. Click Updates in the App Store toolbar.
  3. Use the Update buttons to download and install any updates listed.

To know how to load media, refer to page 23 of the user guide.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
