Shortly after I purchased and installed my new HP OfficeJet Pro 6978, it began showing the message, "Printhead problem. There is a problem with the printhead. Oxc19a0003," and then either not printing at all, or printing just a parital page. Occasionally it will print a page or two OK, before it again shows this message. I just replaced several of the ink cartiges (which were showing as getting low), but the problem persists. What can I do?

Welcome to the HP Forums 😊 I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers. For you to have the best experience on the HP forum, you could also visit our HP Forums Guide for First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More. I see from your post that you are getting "Printhead" error message on your HP OfficeJet printer. Don't worry we'll work together to help you find a solution.
To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:
Have you recently made any changes on the printer before the issue started?
Does this error message include any error code?
Did this happen after a power surge or power outage?
I would suggest you try a hard reset on the printer to try and fix the issue:
Remove the cartridges from the printer.
With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
Remove USB cable, if present.
Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.
Next thing, I would suggest here is to try and update the printer firmware, you can either download the printer firmware from our HP support website, or you can directly update the printer firmware from the printer control panel - For more details, please go through this link: HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware
Alternatively, I would suggest you go through the support document for - HP Printers - Resolving 'Incompatible Printhead,' 'Printhead Missing,' or 'Printhead Problem' Error
You could also perform the steps suggested in this support document for - HP Printers - Printhead Problem, Ink System Failure, '0x...' Error Displays
