Hi @Muletambo,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

There could be several reasons why you're encountering a download error when trying to download software for your HP LaserJet Pro 400 M401dn printer. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue.

  • Check your internet connection: Make sure you have a stable internet connection. If you're using a wireless connection, try connecting your computer to the router with an Ethernet cable to see if it resolves the issue.
  • Clear your browser cache: Your browser's cache can sometimes cause issues when downloading files. Clearing your cache can help resolve the issue. To do this, go to your browser settings and clear your cache and cookies.
  • Disable antivirus software: Sometimes, antivirus software can interfere with downloading files. Try disabling your antivirus software temporarily and then attempt to download the printer driver again.
  • Try a different browser: If you're still encountering issues with downloading the software, try using a different browser to see if it resolves the issue.
  • Download the driver from the HP website: Go to the HP website and manually download the driver for your printer. Make sure you select the correct operating system and download the appropriate driver.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
