Hello,
I'd like to change some settings on my HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M181fw. When I go to 'system properties' on the printer itself, I get prompted to enter a password. Unfortunately, I forgot the password... How do I reset it so I can access the system properties again (reset NVRAM, reset to factory settings,..)?
Thanks in advance.

Hello,
I followed this userguide: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c03296578
The problem here is step 2:
- On the printer control panel, press the OK button to display the Home screen.
- Open the Service menu.
opening the service menu prompts for password, which I don't remember, so i can't access the menu.
The guide states that "Restoring to factory-set defaults will NOT reset the Embedded Web Server (EWS) password. If you lost your EWS password, please contact HP Support."
Unfortunately, I don't know the EWS password (is it the same as the password required to enter the menu on the printer display?). Since my warranty expired in august, I can't contact HP support, the only option I have is to "visit the HP community", so here we are..
Can anyone help me resolve this issue please?
