Am using a microsoft surface 11th with ARM 64 processoor but i can not scan, i install thge driver of my printer HP Color LaserJet MFP M283fdn but does not scan any document how can i solve the problem

I understand the issue you're experiencing with scanning using the HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M283fdn on your ARM64-based Microsoft Surface running Windows 11 is likely due to driver compatibility or scanning software limitations for ARM-based systems. 

Here are some steps to help resolve this problem:


1. Check for ARM64-Compatible Drivers

HP may not have ARM64-specific drivers for all printers. Check the HP Support website for any updates specific to your ARM processor:

  • Go to the HP Software and Driver Downloads page.
  • Enter your printer model (HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M283fdn).
  • Select Windows 11 ARM64 as the operating system, if available, and download any compatible drivers.

2. Use HP Scan and Capture

If the printer driver does not fully support scanning, you can try using HP Scan and Capture, an app from the Microsoft Store that may work better with ARM devices:

  • Download HP Scan and Capture from the Microsoft Store.
  • Launch the app, select your printer, and try scanning from this app.

3. Update Windows and HP Smart App HP printer setup (HP Smart app)

Ensure that your HP Smart App and Windows 11 are fully updated. Sometimes newer updates resolve compatibility issues with scanning:

  • Windows Update: Go to Settings > Windows Update and check for updates.
  • HP Smart App: Download the latest version of HP Smart from the Microsoft Store.

4. Use Windows Fax and Scan

If the HP software doesn’t work, try using the built-in Windows Fax and Scan utility:

  • Search for Windows Fax and Scan in the Windows search bar.
  • Select New Scan, choose your HP printer, and attempt to scan from this tool.

5. Check for Firmware Updates Update the firmware on an HP printer

Your printer might need a firmware update for better compatibility with ARM-based devices:

  • Go to the HP Support page for your printer and check for any available firmware updates.
  • Install the update if available and restart both the printer and your Surface device.

6. Check Network and USB Connections

Ensure your printer is properly connected to your Surface via either:

  • USB connection (if you're not scanning over a network).
  • Network connection (if scanning wirelessly, confirm that both the printer and Surface are on the same network).

7. Reinstall the Printer

If the issue persists:

  1. Uninstall the current printer driver and software.
    • Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners, select your printer, and choose Remove device.
  2. Reinstall the driver/software from HP’s website, selecting Windows 11 ARM64 or trying the universal print/scanning driver.
