Hi @Sandra227,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand you want to set up a shortcut on your HP desktop for your scanner. Follow these steps depending on how your scanner is connected and what software you're using:

Option 1: Create a Shortcut to the Scanner App

If you're using a scanner utility like HP SmartWindows Fax and Scan, or the Scan app:

For HP Smart:

  1. Click Start and search for HP Smart.
  2. Right-click the app and choose Open file location.
  3. In the File Explorer window, right-click the app shortcut and choose Send to > Desktop (create shortcut).

For Windows Fax and Scan:

  1. Press Windows + S and type Windows Fax and Scan.
  2. Right-click it and choose Open file location.
  3. Right-click the shortcut and choose Send to > Desktop (create shortcut).

For Scan App (built-in Windows app):

  1. Search for Scan in the Start menu.
  2. Right-click it and choose Pin to Start or More > Open file location.
  3. Then right-click and choose Send to > Desktop (create shortcut).

Option 2: Create a Shortcut to a Specific Scanner Profile or Folder

If you want a shortcut to a specific scan folder:

  1. Open File Explorer.
  2. Navigate to the folder where your scanned files are saved (e.g., Documents > Scanned Documents).
  3. Right-click the folder and choose Send to > Desktop (create shortcut).

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
