Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your HP OfficeJet 8015e All-In-One Printer shows a "setup incomplete" error message, it can be due to several reasons, including firmware issues, network connectivity problems, or incomplete software installation.
Here are some steps to help resolve this issue:
Step 1: Restart Printer and Computer
- Turn off your printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
- Turn off your computer.
- Wait for 60 seconds.
- Plug in the power cord to the printer and turn it on.
- Turn on your computer and try printing again.
Step 2: Check Network Connection
- Ensure your printer is connected to the same network as your computer.
- Check if the Wi-Fi signal is strong and stable.
- If using a wired connection, make sure the Ethernet cable is securely connected.
Step 3: Update Printer Firmware Update the firmware on an HP printer
- On the printer control panel, go to Setup or Settings.
- Select Printer Maintenance or Printer Update.
- Follow the prompts to update the firmware if an update is available.
Step 4: Reinstall Printer Software
- Uninstall the printer software from your computer: Software and Drivers for HP OfficeJet 8015e All-in-One Printer
- On Windows, go to Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a program, then select your HP printer software and uninstall it.
- On Mac, go to Applications, find the HP printer software, and move it to Trash.
- Download the latest printer software from the HP support website.
- Install the software following the on-screen instructions.
Step 5: Reset the Printer
- On the printer control panel, go to Setup or Settings.
- Select Printer Maintenance or Restore Settings.
- Choose Restore Factory Defaults or a similar option.
- Follow the prompts to reset the printer to factory settings.
- After the reset, follow the initial setup process again.
Step 6: Use HP Smart App
- Download and install the HP Smart app HP Smart
- Open the HP Smart app and add your printer.
- Follow the instructions provided by the app to complete the setup.
