Hi @dhub1927,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your concern!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

HP does offer printers compatible with MICR (Magnetic Ink Character Recognition) toner for secure check printing. These printers can be used to upload and print signatures required for checks.

Recommended HP Printers for MICR Check Printing:

  1. HP LaserJet Printers:
    • HP LaserJet printers, such as the HP LaserJet Enterprise series and HP LaserJet Pro series, are commonly used for MICR check printing due to their reliability and high print quality.

Uploading Signatures for MICR Check Printing:

To upload and print a signature using MICR toner on an HP printer, follow these steps:

1. Acquire MICR Toner:

  • Ensure the printer is compatible with MICR toner cartridges. You might need to purchase MICR toner cartridges separately, as they are specialized.

2. Install MICR Toner:

  • Install the MICR toner cartridge in your HP LaserJet printer following the manufacturer’s instructions.

3. Prepare Signature File:

  • Create or scan your signature using an image editing software to ensure it is clear and appropriately formatted.
  • Save the signature file in a compatible format (e.g., JPEG, PNG, or BMP).

4. Upload Signature File to the Printer:

  • Use the printer’s embedded web server or HP software to upload the signature file.
  • Access the printer’s settings via the web interface or HP software installed on your computer.

5. Print Checks:

  • Use software specifically designed for check printing, such as QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
  • Ensure the checks are formatted correctly for MICR printing.
  • Print using the MICR toner cartridge and verify the signature placement and clarity.

Example of Compatible HP Printer:

  • HP LaserJet Pro M404dn: Known for its speed and quality, this printer can be used with MICR toner for secure check printing.

I hope this helps.
