Hi Asmita.Update with my printer not connecting. I phoned HP and gave them access to my computer. Thay had a few tries but could not get it to connect. Said they thought it was a Windows update problem, so gave me Microsoft's phone number.

Phoned them and gave them access to my computer, they tried for over an hour trying to connect it  but failed.

If/when my old D5560 finaly dies do I purchase another make of printer, i.e. a Cannon or Epson. I worry that I might have the same problem connecting if it is a Widows update problem. It says the Cannon comes with an installation CD.

Hi Asmita. Update 2. I have an HP laptop running Windows 7 and have been able to connect the printer to said laptop and have been able to print a word document and a photo, so why does it not work on Win 8.1!. There were 4 updates for the 3700 from Microsoft that I installed on the laptop. Now it seems my only option to print anything from my 8.1 desktop is to copy to a memory stick and plug it into my laptop.

Hi @thebaron

Could you please try creating a new user account and try printing from that -

1. Tap the Windows icon.
2. Select Settings.
3. Tap Accounts.
4. Select Family & other users.
5. Tap "Add someone else to this PC."
6. Select "I don't have this person's sign-in information."
7. Select "Add a user without a Microsoft account."
8. Enter a username, type the account's password twice, enter a clue and select Next.
9. Tap the Windows icon.
10. Select the User icon at the upper left corner of the Start menu.
11. Select the new user. You'll then sign into your account with your password from step 8.

Let me know.
