Hi @rachelelliott71 ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand the "SWHelper" prompt you're encountering on your Mac is likely related to security settings and not a password for your HP DeskJet 3760 printer itself. Here's how to handle it:

Understanding SWHelper:

  • SWHelper is a process on macOS that helps gatekeeper verify the software you're installing is safe.
  • During HP software installation, it might require confirmation to proceed.

Resolving the SWHelper prompt:

Check Security & Privacy Settings:

  • Go to System Preferences on your Mac.
  • Select "Security & Privacy".
  • Look for a notification about allowing software installation from a specific developer (HP in this case).
  • If you see such a notification, click "Allow".

Re-run the HP Software Installation:

  • Once you allow the installation in Security & Privacy, go back to the HP software installation process.
  • The SWHelper prompt shouldn't appear again, allowing you to complete the installation.

Addressing Blank Pages:

While updating drivers might help, here are some additional troubleshooting steps for the blank pages issue:

Check Print Settings:

  • Make sure the paper size and type settings in your print dialog match the paper loaded in the printer.
  • Ensure the correct print quality is selected (e.g., Draft or Best).

Clean the Printheads:

  • HP printers offer automated printhead cleaning routines. Consult your printer manual or HP's support website for instructions on how to clean the printheads for your specific model.

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Outdated firmware can sometimes cause printing issues. Visit HP's support website and download any available firmware updates for your DeskJet 3760.

Try your MacOS User Password: Sometimes, the system may ask for your MacOS user password or administrator password to authorize the installation or update process. Try entering your MacOS user password and see if it works.

Reset Printer: If you're still having issues and suspect there might be a custom password set up for your printer, you could try resetting the printer to factory settings. This should remove any custom settings, including passwords. However, be aware that this will also erase any other custom settings you might have configured.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
