Hello everyone,

I think now i have been scammed and will report accordingly just so other people are aware.  I contacted HP VIRTUAL assistant as my printer was not working appeared to not to be connecting to wifi etc.  Anyway was put through to a human who advised after taking over control of my pc that all my drivers were not working and that is why the printer was not working.  She tried to get the printer to work or which it would not print out even though you could hear it trying too.  So she put me through to a technican ?? who for 5 hours would either call me back or ask to do actions on the pc.  I was charged £100.00 for this as apparently I had a Trogan and then charged a further £150.00 to have a vpn protector put on router to stop another Trogan.

However I have to contact a lady every 3 months for the next 3 years to run the protection to ensure there is nothing on my computer.  I then received an email from a company "info@t3softwaresolutions.com" <info@t3softwaresolutions.com> thanking me for taking out the following -

Description Quantity Rate Amount
Silver Package 1 £250 £250
GST Tax (5%) £0.0
PST Tax (6%) £0.0
Sub Total £250
Total £250GB

I was told that I did not need to take out any anti virus packages as this covered the vpn and this would stop everything?

I am going to report and will update with the outcome

Hi @Nick_Baxter,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

I understand you've had a really frustrating experience, and it’s understandable why you'd be upset. Unfortunately, this situation does raise some red flags. The charges you’ve encountered, along with the unexpected communication and recurring fees, suggest that you may have fallen victim to a scam or a misleading service offering.

Here are a few steps you can take to address this situation:

  • Cancel Any Unwanted Services: Contact your bank or credit card provider immediately to report the unauthorized charges and ask for a refund or chargeback, if possible. Also, you may want to consider canceling any services or subscriptions you’ve been billed for, particularly from the third-party software company.
  • Scan Your Computer for Malware: Even if you’ve already been told that you have a Trojan, it’s a good idea to run a comprehensive scan with a trusted antivirus program like Windows Defender. This will ensure that your system is safe.
  • Report the Incident: You’ve already mentioned that you plan to report this issue, which is great. You can file a complaint with the UK’s Action Fraud service. This will help prevent others from going through a similar experience.
  • Check the Legitimacy of the Email: The email you received from "info@t3softwaresolutions.com" looks suspicious, especially given the context of the situation. You can check if the email domain is associated with any reported scams by searching online or using an email verification tool.
  • Stay Vigilant Going Forward: In the future, always verify that you’re dealing with official support channels. If you’re unsure, it’s often best to visit the official HP website directly to initiate any support request.

To assist better:

  • May I have the exact name of the model of the product? Refer to this document for steps to find the product details. Do not share your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc.

Could you please elaborate on the issue in detail?

I hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Please click “Accepted Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution. Click the “Kudos/Thumbs Up" on the bottom right to say “Thanks” for helping!
