Have tried for 3 days to install this printer on my laptop via usb cable. Says it is installed. But under devices it shows that ot needs troubleshooting. Have tried full installs and basic installs. No luck. Is HP working on correcting this as it appears to be an installation/driver issue)?
Just need to know when to give up and reinstall my old printer.

Hi,
Once completing the installation and having the printer shown with an error mark under Devices and Printer try the following steps:
- Open the Device Manager and expend the Universal Serial Bus Controller category.
- Locae the Null Print - HP Laserjet instance.
- Right click it and select Update device software
- Select Browse my computer for driver installaion
- Click on Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer.
- Click Have Disk.
- Insert the intallation CD and browse to the the CD Drive, then complete the wizard.
Note: if you may used a driver from hp.com Click the Start button and type %temp% into the search bar, then open the shown Temp folder.
Open the latest HP installation folder which begins with 7z (e.g. 7zs1234) and copy its path, than paste it instead of the CD Drive path.
The pritner should now appear as expected and print with no issues.

You are much welcome @gwinch, great to see it has been resolved for you.
@llmoi- please ensure you follow the steps exactly as shown, skipping the "Click on Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer" step as example will cause the upate to fail.... these steps should resolve such behavior,
Shlomi

Hi the procdure actually didn't work (when updating the driver in control panel - device admin - system responded that the driver was already in place and "best in class").
In any case in the end it was solved, removing the "null print driver" - via controlk panel - and performing a new partial setup with the software provided by HP (usb connection printer).
Anyway, thanks for your help really appreciated.
Best regards
L
