trying to print word document with HP smart. I have older computer and it use to print everything, now it will not print a simple word document

Step 1: Restart Everything

1. Power cycle the printer – Turn it off, unplug it for 30 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
2. Restart your computer – A fresh reboot can clear software conflicts.
3. Restart your router – If the printer is connected via Wi-Fi, a network reset might help.

Step 2: Check Printer Connection

1. Open Control Panel → Devices and Printers.
2. Find your printer and check if it shows "Offline" or "Idle".
3. If it’s offline, remove the printer (- button) and re-add it (+ button).

Step 3: Clear the Print Queue

1. Open Control Panel → Devices and Printers.
2. Click See What’s Printing and cancel any stuck jobs.

Step 4: Reinstall Printer Drivers

1. Download the latest drivers from HP’s support page.
2. Install the drivers and restart your computer.

Step 5: Try Printing from Another App

1. Open Notepad or TextEdit and type a few words.
