HP DeskJet 4155e All-in-One Printer

Please help.  I use to be able to print from this laptop.  Can't now.  As far as I know, there have been no major software changes.  When the HPSmart app tells me to 'finish setup' it wants the PIN.  I found it on the door of the printer, but HPSmart will not accept it.  I'm at the end of my rope.  I just want to print..................help!!!!!!!

Hi @DWill3,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand that you're experiencing difficulties with your HP DeskJet 4155e All-In-One Printer and the HPSmart app. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue.

Check Network Connection:

  • Ensure that your printer and laptop are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
  • If possible, try restarting both your printer and your laptop.

Verify Printer Connection:

  • Make sure the printer is turned on and connected to the Wi-Fi network.
  • Check if there are any error messages on the printer's display.

Reinstall HPSmart App:

  • Uninstall the HPSmart app from your laptop.
  • Restart your laptop.
  • Reinstall the HPSmart app and try setting up the printer again.

Use Web Services:

  • Open the HP printer's EWS (Embedded Web Server) by entering the printer's IP address into a web browser.
  • Check if Web Services are enabled. If not, enable them.
  • Find the printer's IP address on the printer's control panel or through the printer's settings.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Visit the HP support website and check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer.
  • If updates are available, follow the instructions to update the firmware.

Reset HPSmart App:

  • In some cases, the HPSmart app might have encountered a glitch. Try clearing the app's cache or resetting it to default settings.

Alternative Printing Methods:

  • While troubleshooting, you can also try using other methods to print, such as using the built-in printing options in your laptop's operating system.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
