Please follow these steps,
Turn Off Sleep Mode on HP OfficeJet Pro 6978
To disable or adjust sleep mode:
On the printer’s control panel:
- Tap the Home button (if not already on the home screen).
- Go to Setup (gear icon).
- Select Preferences or Power Management.
- Tap Sleep Mode or Auto-Off.
- Set the sleep timer to a longer duration or choose Off if available.
Via HP Smart App or Embedded Web Server (EWS):
- Find the printer’s IP address from the control panel:
Home > Wireless > Settings > Network Summary - Enter the IP address in a web browser to open the EWS.
- Navigate to Settings > Energy Settings or Power Management.
- Adjust the sleep settings as needed.
Reinstall Printer Drivers for HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 on Windows 11
Here’s how to reinstall the drivers:
Option A: Using HP Smart App (Recommended)
- Download and install the HP Smart app from the Microsoft Store.
- Open the app and follow the prompts to add your printer.
- The app will automatically download and install the latest drivers.
Option B: Manual Installation
- Go to the official HP support page:
HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 Drivers - Enter your printer model and select Windows 11 as the OS.
- Download the Full Feature Software and Drivers.
- Run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
