Turn Off Sleep Mode on HP OfficeJet Pro 6978

To disable or adjust sleep mode:

On the printer’s control panel:

• Tap the Home button (if not already on the home screen).
• Go to Setup (gear icon).
• Select Preferences or Power Management.
• Tap Sleep Mode or Auto-Off.
• Set the sleep timer to a longer duration or choose Off if available.

Via HP Smart App or Embedded Web Server (EWS):

• Find the printer’s IP address from the control panel:
  Home > Wireless > Settings > Network Summary
• Enter the IP address in a web browser to open the EWS.
• Navigate to Settings > Energy Settings or Power Management.
• Adjust the sleep settings as needed.

Reinstall Printer Drivers for HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 on Windows 11

Here’s how to reinstall the drivers:

Option A: Using HP Smart App (Recommended)

1. Download and install the HP Smart app from the Microsoft Store.
2. Open the app and follow the prompts to add your printer.
