Hi @SnickyNany,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thanks for reaching out! If your HP ENVY Inspire 7955e All-in-One Printer is not printing in color from your MacBook Air running macOS Sequoia 15.5, here are some steps to help get color printing working again:

 1. Check Print Settings on Mac

Sometimes macOS defaults to grayscale or black-and-white:

  1. Open the Print dialog (File → Print).
  2. Click Show Details (if hidden).
  3. Look for a Color Options or Media & Quality tab.
  4. Ensure Color is selected (not “Black & White” or “Grayscale”).

2. Reset the Printing System (macOS)

This clears old drivers and settings:

  1. Go to System Settings → Printers & Scanners.
  2. Right-click (or Control-click) in the printer list → Reset printing system.
  3. Re-add your HP printer.

3. Reinstall the HP Smart App

  1. Uninstall the HP Smart app from your Mac.
  2. Download the latest version from HP Smart - Free download and install on Windows | Microsoft Store.
  3. Re-add your printer through HP Smart and allow it to install the correct drivers.

4. Run a Print Quality Diagnostic Page

This helps check if the issue is with the printer or the Mac:

  • On the printer’s control panel, go to Settings → Tools → Print Quality Report.
  • If cyan, magenta, or yellow are missing, it may be a cartridge or printhead issue.

5. Check Ink Levels and Cartridges

  • Make sure all cartridges are genuine HP and have sufficient ink.
  • Try removing and reseating the cartridges.
  • Run Printhead Cleaning from the printer’s Tools menu.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
