Hi, not sure if anyone else having the same problem, but for some weeks my Samsung S21 HP Smart app won't let me sign in. I enter my username and password, and then get to a page that says 'continue' and then immediately it opens a page authz.wpp.api.hp.com which just says "403 forbidden". I have no idea why it is doing that. For months I've been using it without problems on the same device. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app, and the same happens. I have no problems with HP Smart on either my PC or Laptop (both Windows). My phone is up to date and has no issues with any other apps. Chrome is my default browser. I've logged onto HP help, and they suggest logging in using Firefox (you have to set Firefox as the default browser first). That works, but the HP Smart app after a few log-ins prompts you to sign in again, and again I have to change the default browser back to Firefox to be able to sign in. I don't want Firefox as my default browser, and this seems a very clumsy workaround - now making accessing the app such hard work I don't want to bother with it.
Anyone else encountered this, or have any suggestions?
Thanks
Alan

I think I have solved this issue. I found this article about 403 forbidden https://www.howtogeek.com/357785/what-is-a-403-forbidden-error-and-how-can-i-fix-it/
I tried clearing the cookies on Chrome on my Android and that seems to have solved the issue. I have successfully logged in and out of HP Smart👍
Many thanks for taking the trouble to reply, I appreciate it!

Hello Sandytechy20!
Many thanks for that. I have already uninstalled and reinstalled the app on my phone. My phone is up to date with the latest Android updates etc. I have also checked, and my printer firmware is the latest version.
Looking at the help section, it does seem as if this might be a known problem, as the workaround involves changing my default browser to Firefox. This does work, but just doesn't seem a great workaround!
Thanks

Hello there, Here's Viller, Thank you very much for that. On my phone, I have already uninstalled and reinstalled the app. The Android update on my phone is up-to-date. My printer firmware is also up-to-date. This seems to be a known issue, as the workaround involves switching to Firefox as my default browser. It does work, but it doesn't seem like a great solution! Thanks
