Welcome to the HP support community.

Which operating system is installed on the computer to which this printer is connected?

I want to uninstall my HP Officejet Pro 8610, but the system won't let me.  The driver in the "Driver Store" of the System 32 Folder prohibits the removal of the driver "C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\hpwia_oj8610.inf_amd64_80a1460fc3d1076d "and "C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\hpoj8610fax.inf_amd64_e94c57e19ac4e28e." It tells me that only the system can uninstall these drivers,  I've tried changing the permissions, but it didn't help.  My 8610 is broken and in the trash so I want to delete all of its software.  Please help.

This might require remote access of the computer to uninstall the drivers.

I request you to talk to HP support.

They might have multiple options to help you with this.

  1. Click on this link - https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp?openCLC=true
  2. Select the country.
  3. Enter the serial of your device.
  4. Select the country from the drop-down.
  5. Click on "Show Options".
  6. Fill the web-form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.

Cheers,

I get through steps 1, 2 & 3 successfully, but then steps 4, 5 & 6 do not show up on the site.  What am I doing wrong?
