I was getting error message when trying to print---for example inkjet1.driver will damage your computer. I contacted apple as I have a Mac with macOS Catalina 10.15.7. They had me uninstall the printer and then to HP to connect a new driver. However when I tried to do that it said no driver was available for my system. What do I do now?

Hi,

Please follow below steps to fully remove any previous software:

https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06960563

Once completing the uninstall, download and install below drivers:

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/HP_Quick_Start/osx/Applications/ASU/HPPrinterDrivers5.1.dm...

Power on the printer and connect it to your Mac, go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, click the plus sign and select your printer, select your printer model within the Use drop-down menu and press on Add, then try printing.

The 5.1 version doesn't work any longer on Big Sur, or at least I can't unpack and force install.  Does anyone have a workaround?  Now I have a generic PCL driver which doesn't allow printing in color.  I run Big Sur, and have Parallels to run windows, and within Windows printing is fine because there are updated Windows 10 drivers for this printer!
