Hi @JohnJohn9,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Transitioning your HP Envy Inspire 7200e series printer from a Wi-Fi connection to a wired connection involves a few steps, focusing on configuring the printer and connecting it to your network using an Ethernet cable. Here's a general guide to help you with the process. Please note that some steps might vary slightly based on the exact model and your operating system:

Gather Materials: Ensure you have an Ethernet cable long enough to reach from your router to your printer.

Turn Off Wi-Fi on Printer: Before you start, it’s a good idea to disable the printer's Wi-Fi to prevent any connection conflicts.

  • On the printer’s control panel, look for the wireless icon or go into the settings/network settings menu to disable Wi-Fi. The exact steps can vary, so refer to your printer’s manual if needed.

Connect Ethernet Cable:

  • Connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the printer and the other end to an available port on your router or switch.
  • Once connected, the printer should automatically recognize the wired connection and attempt to connect to the network. If your network requires specific configurations, you might need to input those details through the printer’s control panel.

Install/Update Printer Drivers:

  • If you haven't already, ensure you have the latest printer drivers installed on your computer. You can download the latest drivers from the HP website. Enter your printer model and navigate to the "Software and Driver Downloads" section.
  • Follow the installation instructions. During installation, if prompted, choose the option that suggests using the printer over a wired network or Ethernet connection.

Configure Printer Settings on Computer:

  • Windows: Go to 'Settings' > 'Devices' > 'Printers & scanners'. Click “Add a printer or scanner” and wait for Windows to find your printer. Follow the on-screen instructions to add it.
  • Mac: Open 'System Preferences' > 'Printers & Scanners'. Click the '+' button to add a new printer. Select your printer from the list and follow the prompts to add it.

Print a Test Page: Once everything is set up, try printing a test page to ensure the printer is correctly connected and configured.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
