HP Brochure paper is 180 gsm / 48lb

This paper weight / paper type supports duplex printing.

I would GUESS that you can also print Duplex on Index card paper up to the supported weight 200 gsm / 110lb.

Other factors:

For example,

  • Paper size - not all paper sizes support duplex printing.
  • Paper surface - the surface on the paper impacts whether and how-well the paper can be printed.  Duplex printing is more difficult in that the paper must print one side, "go back" inside the printer, and then print on the backside of the paper.  If the paper is too rough or too "slick" (slippery), the operation might fail.
  • Paper type - "all paper is not equal".  Duplex printing is NOT supported on Photo Paper.

@mmburke33

You are welcome.

I am sorry if it seems a bit of a mess.

In fact, paper type manufacturing and paper weights is a larger subject and not always easily condensed into a small post / message meant to answer what appears to be a simple question.

Most people do not want to know "all there is" about the subject.

It's a bit like getting excited about coding - you do --- or you don't care.  Smiling.

I have seen the virtual "deer in the headlights" look from customers when I do explain and add more information.

That result likely says more about my inability to explain, I think.

Happy Printing.

Stay Safe.

Carry on.
