The application might "spin" and refuse to open if the connection between the device (computer, tablet, phone) and one or more of the connected printers fails for some reason.
The application might spin if there is an error in the application --
Without context, the source of the issue might be difficult to pinpoint.
In general, as a first "do this" step,
Restart the devices where the application is installed AND Restart the printer.
The same response might be the result when one or more "other" devices -- that is, places where the application is installed -- are running an outdated version of the HP Smart Application.
AND
Check / Update >> Every device (computer(s) and / or mobile) where HP Smart is installed should be running the latest version of the HP Smart application available for that device platform (Operating System / Version).
The issue might be more likely to appear on a PC but could display on a Mobile device.
If nothing works, Windows supports Resetting the HP Smart App.
The reset does remove the application's data - After the Reset, all printers must be added back into the application.
Ask if you need additional instructions.
