"Today, I purchased a new printer HP Color Laser 150nw and am trying to set up the wireless connection. I've accessed the configuration page and am using the HP Smart app for setup. I selected the correct SSID, 'Direct-92-HP Laser 150nw,' and when prompted for a password, I entered the one provided by the printer as the 'Network Key.' However, I keep getting an error message that says 'Incorrect password for Direct-92-HP Laser 150nw.' Could someone assist me with this?"

Hi @CNB2R6CJ6X,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're encountering issues with the network key for your new HP Color Laser 150nw printer. Here are some steps to help you troubleshoot.

  • Verify the Network Key: Double-check the network key printed on the configuration page of your printer. Ensure that there are no extra spaces or characters being added when you type it in.
  • Reboot Devices: Restart your printer and the device you're using to set up the printer. Sometimes a simple reboot can resolve connectivity issues.
  • Update HP Smart App: Ensure that the HP Smart app on your device is up-to-date. An outdated app might cause setup issues.
  • Use Correct Mode: Make sure you're connecting to the correct network. The SSID 'Direct-92-HP Laser 150nw' is usually a direct connection mode used for initial setup, but your device should be connected to the same network as your printer for the setup to work correctly.
  • Check Printer Configuration: Go back to the printer’s configuration page and verify that the network key is correct and matches what you are entering in the app.
  • Reset Printer Network Settings: If you continue to face issues, you might need to reset the network settings on your printer and try the setup process again. You can usually find this option in the printer's settings menu.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Actually, password is right. There was one character which looks 1(one) but that was l.
