I have an11 yr old HP Envy 4500 that lost its connection to our home wifi.  Nothing changed with our home wifi or router.    I tried to reconnect but it doesn't recognize our wifi.  It sees my neighbors wifi's but not ours.  How can I reconnect it to our wifi.

@Padre53, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

If your HP Envy 4500 printer has lost its Wi-Fi connection and cannot see your home network, despite seeing other networks, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue:

1. Check Wi-Fi Settings on the Printer:

  • Printer Location: Ensure the printer is within range of your Wi-Fi router. Physical obstructions or distance can hinder connectivity.
  • Network Reset: From the printer's control panel, navigate to the wireless settings. Use the option to "Restore Network Settings" to clear any old settings.

2. Verify Your Wi-Fi Network Settings:

  • SSID Broadcast: Ensure your router is set to broadcast the network name (SSID). If SSID broadcast is turned off, the printer will not be able to see the network.
  • Network Band: Make sure your printer supports the Wi-Fi band your router is using (typically 2.4GHz; many older printers do not support 5GHz).

3. Connect Using the Wireless Setup Wizard:

  • Touchscreen Setup: Use the Wireless Setup Wizard found on the printer's control panel to manually connect to your network.
    • Access this via Settings > Network Setup > Wireless Setup Wizard.
    • Follow the prompts to select your network and enter the network password if required.

4. Print a Wireless Network Test Report:

  • Diagnosis: From the printer menu, print a Wireless Network Test Report to identify potential issues with the network settings.

5. Use HP Smart App:

  • Re-connect Using HP Smart: Install the HP Smart app on a mobile device or computer and use it to help connect the printer to your network. This might also involve restoring the printer to Wi-Fi setup mode.

6. Check for Interference:

  • Interference Sources: Ensure there are no devices between your printer and router that could cause interference (e.g., microwaves, cordless phones).

7. Manually Add Network:

  • If your network isn’t visible, try manually entering the SSID and password in the printer’s setup menu.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
