Reference: HP DeskJet 4222e. I'm attempting to set up the printer to my PC and have a message stating that I'm trying to connect to a 5GHz network when the printer requires a 2.4 GHz network. There is no visible means of changing to 2.4GHz on the router which is a TalkTalk  provision. How can I get my printer working? Thank you in advance.

Your HP DeskJet 4222e requires a 2.4 GHz network for wireless connectivity, and it seems your router is defaulting to 5 GHz. 

 

Here are some steps to help you resolve this:

 

Enable Dual-Band Mode:

  • Look for an option to enable dual-band mode, which allows the router to broadcast both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks simultaneously.
  • Ensure the 2.4 GHz band is enabled and has a unique network name (SSID) to distinguish it from the 5 GHz band.
  • If you cannot access or modify the router settings, contact TalkTalk for assistance. They can guide you through enabling the 2.4 GHz band.
