4100 Deskjet will not connect to WiFi after changing internet companies. Honestly has been a pain for the 3 years I have had it. Connecting the smartphone to print has been very glitchy. Please help.

Hi @Lovelearning75,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP 4100 printer is having trouble connecting to Wi-Fi and your smartphone, there are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue.
- Check Wi-Fi Settings: Ensure that your Wi-Fi network is functioning properly and that other devices can connect to it. Double-check the Wi-Fi password to make sure it is entered correctly.
- Restart Devices: Turn off your printer, smartphone, and Wi-Fi router. Wait for a few seconds, then power them back on. This can often resolve temporary connectivity issues.
- Move Closer to the Router: If the printer is located far away from the Wi-Fi router, it may have difficulty establishing a stable connection. Try moving the printer closer to the router and see if that helps.
- Update Firmware: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your HP 4100 printer. Updating the firmware can sometimes fix connectivity issues and improve overall performance. Visit the HP support website and search for your printer model to find the latest firmware version.
- Reset Network Settings: Resetting the printer's network settings can help clear any existing configuration issues. Look for a "Network" or "Wireless" menu on the printer's control panel and select the option to reset the network settings. Afterward, set up the Wi-Fi connection again from scratch.
- Reinstall Printer Drivers: Make sure you have the latest printer drivers installed on your smartphone. Visit the HP website or your smartphone's app store to download and install the official HP printer app or the appropriate drivers for your printer model.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
