Hello,


I just spent 2.5 hours trying to get an OfficeJet 5258 All-In-One to work on Mac OS X 14, Sonoma.

I tried the "Easy Setup" utility and "Easy Print" app and neither one would detect the printer even though the printer is connected to the same (home) wireless network. We tried adding it as Airprint by entering the IP address (192.168.x.x) and using every single one of the protocols listed, with Generic PostScript drivers. It wouldn't connect no matter what we did.

Mac OS X did not detect the printer, even when it was plugged in directly via USB.

 

The was connected to WiFi and updated itself over the network but Mac OS X Sonoma did not pick up on the 5258 printer as existing at all. The only drivers listed on the HP site were for OSX 13 Ventura, and they were just the Easy Start and Easy Print apps that didn't work.
