HP Smart Tank 7602r All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

Attempting to install a new 7602r printer via WiFi and keep getting a "printer-set-up-incomplete" error message after it says install complete and I try to print a word file.  Printer will print a "HP Printer Status Report".  When I try to print a file the HP Software says the file was printed but the the screen on the printer says "printer-set-up-incomplete".

I have repeated install process several times but keep getting the same result.  I have tried every fix suggestion I could find on the internet but nothing works.

Hi @kwsmoney,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Since your HP printer can print its status report but displays “Printer Setup Incomplete” when you print a Word document, the issue may be related to the printer's setup or its communication with the computer.

Please try the following steps:

Check the printer's status:

Open the HP app and confirm that the printer appears online and ready.

Check the print queue:

On your computer, open the printer queue and cancel any pending jobs, then try printing a new document.

Set the printer as default:

In Windows, go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners, select your HP printer, and choose Set as default if available.

Re-add the printer:

If the issue persists, remove the printer from Windows and add it again using the official HP software and drivers page.

Since you've already reinstalled the printer several times, please also share whether you're using Windows 10 or Windows 11 and whether the “Printer Setup Incomplete” message appears on the printer's screen or only in the HP app.

Best regards,
