HP OfficeJet Pro 8035e All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Printer refused to print, message that it cannot connect online. Wifi connected, and HP has no problem connecting to printer to install updates, wifi connects fine with internet on computer. HP Smart is worthless, does not even see a problem. Same printer that resets clock/date every time it powers off, HP cannot figure out that problem either.

Hi @bh1987,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

I'd like to help!

I'd like to know the following to isolate the issue further:

  • Are the printer and PC connected to the same network?
  • Is your router dual-band enabled i.e., both 2.4GHz and 5GHz? If yes, make sure the dual band has different SSIDs for 2.4G and 5G networks.
  • What is the distance between the router and the printer?
  • Is there an antivirus software installed on your PC?
  • Any error message / any lights blinking on the printer?

While you respond to that, let's try the below steps:

Step 1: Perform a power reset on the printer:

  • Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
  • Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
NOTE: HP Recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet
  • Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  • Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  • Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Step2: Update the printer firmware if possible

  • Click here to download and install the latest printer firmware from your PC.
  • Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
