Hi @bud5930
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you can print via USB but not over the network with your HP printer connected to your Deco M4 mesh network, here are some troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:
1. Check Network Connection
- Confirm Network Connection: Ensure that both your computer and printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. You can verify the printer’s network settings through the printer’s control panel.
2. Restart Devices
- Power Cycle: Restart your printer, computer, and Deco M4 mesh system. This can refresh the network connection and resolve temporary issues.
3. Update Printer Drivers
- Ensure you have the latest printer drivers installed on your computer. Visit the HP support website to download and install the latest drivers for your printer model.
4. Add Printer via IP Address
- If your printer is not appearing automatically, you can try adding it manually using its IP address:
- Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners on your computer.
- Click on Add a printer or scanner, then select The printer that I want isn’t listed.
- Choose Add a printer using a TCP/IP address or hostname, and enter the printer's IP address (192.168.68.102).
5. Disable Firewall/Antivirus Temporarily
- Sometimes, firewall or antivirus software can block printer communication. Temporarily disable these to see if it resolves the issue. If it does, adjust your firewall settings to allow printer communication.
6. Run HP Print and Scan Doctor
- Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool. This tool can help diagnose and fix printing issues automatically.
7. Check Printer Settings
- Make sure the printer is set as the default printer on your computer:
- Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners, click on your printer, and select Manage. Then click Set as default.
8. Check Router Settings
- Log in to your Deco M4 management app and check for any settings that may block the printer, such as MAC address filtering.
9. Reset Network Settings on Printer
- If none of the above works, consider resetting the printer’s network settings to factory defaults and reconnecting it to your Wi-Fi network. This can usually be done through the printer’s settings menu.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
