my 8710 printer keeps going offline, even in the middle of printing. I have upgraded the driver and done everything about rebooting router, printer, etc. I can not print and even if I delete the printer and try to add it, it sometime won't show up, even when it has an ip address and says it's connected. I am using a mac

Hi @LadyDi77,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Dealing with a printer that frequently goes offline can be frustrating. Let's troubleshoot this issue step by step.
- Check Connection: Ensure that the printer is connected to the same network as your Mac. Sometimes, the printer may connect to a different network or lose connection due to signal interference.
- Static IP Address: Assigning a static IP address to your printer can sometimes resolve connectivity issues. This ensures that the printer always has the same IP address and doesn't conflict with other devices on the network.
- Firmware Update: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer. Updating the firmware can often fix bugs and improve performance.
- Printer Settings: Review the printer settings to ensure that it's not set to enter sleep mode too quickly or disconnect from the network after a period of inactivity.
- Firewall/Antivirus: Sometimes, firewall or antivirus software on your Mac can block the communication between the printer and the computer. Temporarily disable these software to see if it resolves the issue.
- USB Connection: If possible, try connecting the printer to your Mac using a USB cable instead of relying on the wireless connection. This can help determine if the issue is specific to the wireless connection.
- Reset Printing System: On your Mac, go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, right-click on the printer, and select "Reset printing system." This will remove all printers from your Mac and allow you to re-add them.
By going through these steps, you should be able to identify and hopefully resolve the issue with your HP 8710 printer going offline.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
