It's down again. My wife, who has another HP printer, never ever has the problem, but I have always had lousy luck with HP even though the printer is only a 3 feet from the wifi modem! I'm so sick of this crap.

Hi @RickinVirginia

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I'm really sorry you're having trouble with your HP DeskJet 9015e printer! I understand how frustrating it can be when your printer isn't working, especially when it's positioned so close to the Wi-Fi modem and other printers seem to work fine. Let's try a few steps to resolve the issue so you can get printing again without having to deal with recurring problems.

Common Causes and Solutions for HP DeskJet 9015e Connectivity Issues:

1. Check the Printer’s Connection to Wi-Fi:

Even though the printer is close to the Wi-Fi modem, there could still be intermittent connectivity issues:

  • On the printer’s display screen, go to Settings > Network or Wi-Fi settings and check if the printer is still connected to the Wi-Fi network.
  • If it's disconnected or showing a weak signal, try reconnecting the printer to the Wi-Fi. Follow the on-screen instructions to reconnect to your network.

You can also print a Network Configuration Report from the printer's settings to check its IP address and network status.

2. Reboot the Printer and Router:

Sometimes, simply rebooting both the printer and your router can solve temporary connection issues.

  • Turn off the printer, wait for 10-20 seconds, and then turn it back on.
  • Reboot your Wi-Fi router by unplugging it for 30 seconds and plugging it back in. This will reset the connection.

3. Check for Printer Queue Issues:

Sometimes, a stuck print job in the queue can cause printing problems:

  • Go to Devices and Printers (on Windows) or Printers & Scanners (on Mac).
  • Look for your HP DeskJet 9015e in the list and open the Print Queue.
  • If there are any jobs stuck in the queue, cancel them and try printing again.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
