Common problems for Connectivity Issues
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.

Since the most recent firmware update my all-in-one 9120e does not stay online. I shut it down and start it back up and all is good. However, the next day it is offline again. I have run diagnostics, however, when I run them, the printer is back online thus the diagnostic reads everything as good. Any ideas, anybody?

Hi @robps346 ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand the firmware update might have introduced an issue with your printer's network connection. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the problem:

Restart Your Network Equipment: Power cycle your router and modem by unplugging them for about 30 seconds and then plugging them back in. This can sometimes help resolve connectivity issues.

Check Network Settings:

  • Make sure your printer is connected to the correct network.
  • Ensure that the Wi-Fi signal is strong and that the printer is within range of your router.

Update Printer Firmware:  Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • Check if there is a newer firmware update available for your printer that might address the connectivity issue.
  • You can usually find firmware updates on the HP website under the support section for your printer model.

Reconfigure Network Settings:

  • Go to the printer’s network settings and forget the current network connection.
  • Reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network by entering the network details again.

Reset Network Settings:

  • Reset the network settings on the printer to factory defaults and then reconfigure the connection to your Wi-Fi network.

Check for Interference:

  • Make sure there are no devices or objects causing interference with your Wi-Fi signal.

Static IP Address:

  • Assign a static IP address to the printer to ensure it remains on the same IP and avoids potential conflicts.

Reinstall Printer Software:

  • Uninstall and reinstall the printer software on your computer. Sometimes, reinstalling the software can help resolve connectivity issues.

HI Gaya1239, thank you for the suggestions I have tried them, and I thought I had it fixed after resetting printer to default settings and then reloading everything including network, it stayed good for two days and now it is back to being offline again. I do not have access to the router to unplug it and restart it. School is going to start on Monday, and I am really going to need this thing to work. Thank you for your help.
