LaserJet m12w

Hi !

I have had my LaserJet 12w as a home network printer for over the years. No jams, no issues, it worked really fine.

Some time ago I change my home router to a newer model  with 5 gHz Wifi (my old one worked on 2.4 gHz).

It is a pity that I can't use my m12w as a network printer as I used to do. Now I  have to connect it directly to computer to print something, it is not convenient enough to me.

Is there a way to replace a network module inside , to work with 5gHz Wifi ?

I used to work with bigger HP printers as a LAN admin (HP LJ 4XXX and 5XXX Series) so I know that there is  an option to replace a network card inside , in case of some issues with them. Possibly some similar approach exists for m12w also ?

Thanks in advance

Andrii

No, the printer supports 2.4GHZ only

Your router is likely a dual-band router, so you may contact your router service provider and ask to enable the 2.4GHz  wireless band, and set it with a unique SSID, then connect the printer to the 2.4GHz band.
