Product: HP OfficeJet 3830
Operating System: macOS 10.14 Mojave

Read through forums and was told to post here. Set name as "Admin" and set a 4 digit passcode, tried entering the exact same code seconds later and was locked out repeatedly. Have tried all variations possible and cannot get in. Tried to use virtual assistant and was spit back here. So please help, I am quite computer savvy and this is definitely a consistent problem HP needs to attend to.

Hi,

As you mention you set name as "Admin", the printer default username is admin (all lower case) and that cannot be changed, only the password can be changed.

 

Please make sure you type admin as the user with all lower-case among your selected password and check if that may work then.

No this did not help, lower case admin did not yield a different result
