I have a Color LaserJet Pro MPF M182nw and someone set the admin password but did not write it down. How can I reset it? I've searched for a few hours but the answer is always privately shared with the person asking the question. I also need that solution.

Hi @aj_pinko,
I'd like to help!
I understand the printer is locked with an administrator password.
The HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M182nw does not have an option to perform the NVRAM reset. Please reach out to the HP Technical Support team in your region for further assistance/service options.
You may create a case on the website to obtain a case number if required. Kindly watch this video to know-how.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hi Jay_G24. It's odd to read your response because less than a year ago, you responded to the exact same question on the same printer model. That post & response are here: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-Setup-Software-Drivers/Password-reset-for-HP-Color-LaserJet-pr...
Periodically HP releases driver updates and other software updates for all printer lines. So I'm confused why something as basic as a factory reset would not be prioritized as a feature to (a) have made it in the original release and (b) at least make it into a subsequent software/driver update. This is arguably the single most common troubleshooting resolution across all hardware peripherals (printers, hubs/routers, monitors). I can't recall the last time I encountered hardware without a factory reset, yet HP won't support this on a "modern" (ie less than a few years old) printer? Hmmm... so that's an odd answer in 2022.
What is most frustrating is that your response in the other post referenced above was hidden. This completely defeated the purpose of a public online forum. It feels disingenuous to what an online support forum is supposed to accomplish: one response for everyone facing the same issue. By consequence it insinuates that HP only really provides "useful" support to customers with paid-up support contracts ... and if not then kindly contact support to pay for more support.
