I need to reset my EWS password, I have forgotten mine. I've seen others needing to be emailed/sent this information. Can someone please send me the steps/process on how to reset/change my EWS password. It says the log-in name and password is incorrect. Someone please send me this information!

@MaverickPrinter, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Reset/Change EWS Password!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Access HP Embedded Web Server (EWS):

  • Make sure your printer and computer are connected to the same network.
  • Find the IP address of your printer, usually available on the printer's display or by printing a network configuration page.
  • Enter the IP address into your web browser to access the EWS.

Login to EWS:

  • Use the current username and password. If you've forgotten these, you may need to factory reset the printer as a last resort.

Change Password:

  • Navigate to the settings related to security or administrative functions.
  • Look for an option to change the password. Follow the on-screen instructions to set a new password.

Factory Reset (if necessary):

  • If you cannot access the EWS due to forgotten credentials, consult the printer manual or HP support documents on how to perform a factory reset. This step will clear all customized settings, including network configurations and passwords.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
