HP DeskJet 3762 All-in-One Printer

Hi, I have a Deskjet 3762 printer and I cannot remember the admin password. In truth I'm not even sure I set one when I first set up.

Can anyone help please?

Hi @Redmac1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd like to help!

Which device are you trying to connect the printer to?

Re-install the HP Smart app, click here to download the app.

Alternatively, you can connect the printer to your wireless router using the WPS method or using Wi-Fi Direct.

Click here to know more about the WPS method.

Connecting the printer Using Wi-Fi Direct

  1. On the device(Computer/TAB), open Settings, tap Wi-Fi and then tap the printer with DIRECT in the name (Example: DIRECT-72-HP Deskjet 3752) from the list of available networks.
  2. If prompted for a password, type 12345678. This is the default password to log in.
  3. If you created a custom password and do not remember it, go to your printer to get the password.
  4. Press the Wireless and Information buttons at the same time. Find the Wi-Fi Direct password in the Wi-Fi Direct section of the printed page.

Open the item you want to print, and then tap Print from the app or action menu.

Select your printer from the list of available printers, and then tap Print.

Note: When the printer and the Device are connected via Wi-Fi Direct, you will not be able to access the Internet on your iPad, Hence we will have to convert the connection to wireless now.

Convert the connection to a Wireless

  1. Open a web browser and at the top address bar, type in 192.168.223.1 and click on go.
  2. The printer's Home page would open.
  3. Go to Network > Wireless setup wizard and follow the on-screen instructions.
  4. Once the connection is successful, connect your device back to your wireless network. (router)
  5. Try to print.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
